New Store Opening July 2025

North Wales-based independent beds and mattresses retailer Now to Bed has shared plans of its move to a new store following the closure of its Rhyl location.

The family business, which also operates from its shop in Prestatyn (pictured above), closed its store on Clwyd Retail Park back in March after being “forced” to exit due to rising rent costs. Now to Bed used the opportunity to search for a new location and expects to open at Castle View Retail Park on Marsh Rd in Rhuddlan during July 2025.

“Business remains challenging, not helped by the transition from one store to another with a three-month wait from closing the old retail park store to the launch of the new one,” Paul adds.

“However, we are planning a mid-July launch and are discussing ideas with our supplier partners as we speak. We will open with the normal special offers and plan to offer a couple of FREE mattresses in a draw on the opening weekend from gaining customers email addresses and to maximise the traditional opening footfall.

“Together with a chance to win a FREE night at the air BNB at our local farm, which supplies us with Welsh Wool that is used in our exclusive collection of mattresses. We believe we are the only bed retailer in Wales that offer this facility and we are eager to support our local farming community.

“We’re proud of the fact that after 12 years in business we have the opportunity to purchase our own retail premises in such an ideal location. This gives us a solid foundation to move the business forward and we can’t wait to open very soon.”
